AWSI Musings: Swatch Embraces Inner Child…

We introduced the “SNapkin” concept in this post. Here’s another to peruse and ponder.  Enjoy!—The Gang

The use of baby pictures in corporate communications is not a practice we’d encourage unless there was a darn good reason. Swatch, a maker of fun, playful watches, took the unusual step of incorporating colorful children’s drawings of wristwatches and photos of the management team as children in their annual report.

In her introduction, The Swiss watchmaker’s Board Chairwoman Nayla Hayek reminded fellow shareholders that her father — Swatch’s founder Nicolas Hayek — was fond of encouraging people to channel their six-year-old selves.

AWSI, Swatch isn’t doing a “kids for kids sake” move. Rather, this is a throwback to legacy. It’s fun. Makes you smile. It also serves as a reminder that you can wear something that will put a smile on your face every day of the week PLUS make others smile. That’s awesome and perhaps a reminder not to take yourself too seriously.

We really like their Swatch Club concept too!

And The Enchanted Jukebox Sez…

Crazy Frog’s version of Popcorn is pretty darn fun…

Also, Annie plays this a lot — Crazy Frog’s take on Move It!

Where’s that from, you ask? Here you go…

Which is actually a fun movie suitable for multiple viewings…

Thanks for reading!
